Separate detection, searching and verification
A format signature is not a recovered password. A candidate found in a short header filter is not full-file verification. A successful decrypt is not a blanket guarantee that a converted workbook retained every feature.
Use public, owned fixtures
We create fictional files whose contents and passwords are known in advance. Customer documents, private password clues and identifiable order details are excluded.
Publish what failed
The R2 PDF GPU control did not pass the loader in this test path; no R2 GPU rate is published. Workbook structure protection remains after the narrow worksheet operation. Both results are part of the experiment.
Label timing correctly
Candidate rate, known-password document-open time and end-to-end recovery time are distinct measures. A short GPU window does not establish sustained throughput, a population success rate or a customer deadline.
